Former Nigerian internationals, Peter Rufai and Victor Ikepba, on
Thursday joined others in a novelty match between ex–internationals and
All-Stars in honour of Late Stephen Keshi.
The match, organized by the Nigeria Football Federation, the Edo State
Football Association and the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, also
featured ex-Super Eagles players, including Mutiu Adepoju, Austin
Eguavoen and Uche Okechukwu.
Rufai, Adepoju, Eguavoen, Ikepba, Okechukwu and Keshi were part of the Nigerian squad that lifted the African Nations Cup trophy in 1994.
The match ended 1-1 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, where Keshi played many matches for the New Nigeria Bank FC.
