Plane Bombing Allegation: Buhari Can’t Descend To Wike’s Level - Presidency

President Muhammadu Buhari has said that he will not join issues with Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State.
The President said this through his spokesman, Malam Garba Shehu.

This followed the latter’s ‎allegation of a plot by his political enemies to bomb his plane.
Wike, who was speaking at a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) end-of-year party in Port Harcourt, claimed his detractors were desperate to eliminate him.
But he insisted that no man could destroy who God has lifted.

Jibrin Secretly Begs Dogara Over His Suspension - Daily Trust

The suspended former chairman of the House of Representatives appropriation committee, Abdulmumin Jibrin, has “secretly begged Speaker Yakubu Dogara,” Daily Trust has gathered.

It was gathered that Jibrin, who was suspended in September for one year, following his allegations of massive fraud in the House, had delegated some lawmakers close to the speaker to appeal to Dogara for forgiveness for all that he did.

Jibrin had, after his sack on July 20, alleged that Dogara, his deputy, Yussuf Suleiman Lasun, Chief Whip Alhassan Ado Doguwa and Minority Leader Leo Ogor, made failed attempts to force him to insert projects worth about N40 billion for them in the 2016 budget, among other allegations.

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has accused the Department of State Service (DSS) of recording telephone conversations of Nigerians perceived as critical of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s All Progressives Congress (APC) government, editing the conversations and leaking same to Sahara Reporters, which has now become the official propaganda platform of the federal government.

Governor Fayose, who said he was not bothered by the new sinister antic of the federal government, added that; "Rather than sitting down and be monitoring peoples phones, the federal government should provide food for Nigerians and save the lives of those that are being killed in Southern Kaduna and other places."

The governor, who reacted to his telephone conversation with Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike that was published by Sahara Reporters today, through his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, said; “If the President and his hatchet men in the DSS, EFCC and other federal government agencies do not know what to do other than to record phone conversations of their perceived political foes, they should just resign and save the country from this harrowing experience."

Pastor Mathew Ashimolowo's KICC Loses $4.8 Million To A Ponzi Scheme, Inquiry Finds Church Trustees Guilty of Mismanagement

CHURCH FOUNDER

Kingsway International Christian Centre, a 12,000-member megachurch in Britain headed by Nigerian Pastor, Mathew Ashimolowo, lost $4.8 million to a Ponzi scheme after trustees carelessly invested money in it.

The scam was the brainchild of former Premier League soccer player, Richard Rufus. Rufus was a defender for Charlton Athletic. He promised investors along with the church a return as high as 55 per cent.

The Christian Post, reporting the findings of an inquiry published on December 14 by the Charity Commission for England and Wales revealed that the Kent-based 12,000 member Christian Centre suffered a net loss of about $4.8 million (£3.9 million) after its trustees invested over $6.1 million (£5 million) in four installments between June 2009 and June 2010. Rufus was a member and former trustee of the church.

Rufus had guaranteed that the investments would earn a sizeable return totaling about 55 percent in a year. He was last year found guilty of defrauding about 100 investors out of a total of $10,731,159 (£8,682,343) in the £16-million investing scheme.

Why we planned to bomb 3rd Mainland Bridge – Suspect

One of the leaders of  a notorious militant group operating in Ikorodu and Arepo areas of Lagos and Ogun states, Abiodun Amos, said yesterday, that his group planned to bomb the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos because the Federal Government failed to consider its members for amnesty.

The group had planned to bomb the bridge end of last month before Amos’ arrest by the Inspector-General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team, led by Abba Kyari, an Assistant Commissioner of Police, frustrated its efforts.

“We went into bank robberies and kidnapping because we wanted to get government’s attention and all we wanted was for them to grant us amnesty and also offer us pipeline protection contract. ‘’We have made several appeals but government is not listening to us.

Debbie Reynolds dies at age 84, just a day after her daughter, Carrie Fisher dies

 

Actress Carrie Fisher, suffered a heart attack while returning from a book signing event in London on Sunday, she never recovered and died on Tuesday. The following day, Wednesday, her 84 year old mother, Debbie Reynolds, who rose to stardom in "Singin' in the Rain" suffered a stroke and died from it.

According to TMZ, her son Todd said Debbie was rushed to a hospital shortly after 1 PM when someone at the Beverly Hills home of her son, Todd, called 911 to report a possible stroke.

Abuja Pastor Organises Prayers For MMM Victims (Photo)

A popular Abuja pastor has organised a prayer session tagged “Mavrodi Return My Money” for members of the MMM comunity whose funds are frozen.

According to a trending banner on social media, the 7-day fire vigil service which is scheduled to start from the 7th to the 13th of January 2017 is being organised by one top ‘man of God’ named Bishop Fireman Dapada of the popular, Mole Moba Motungbapada Ministry.

The MMM participants are expected to show up at the prayer venue with their phones, laptops, iPads and other technological devices used in transacting the questionable business. They will be anointed and cleansed by the bishop for safe usage.

On Saturday, December 24, President Muhammadu Buhari announced that the last and most deadly stronghold of Boko Haram terrorists had been recaptured. The president said the terrorists were already on the run and had no place to hide. The Camp Zero was the last enclave of the terrorists to be recaptured.

Meet The American Billionaire, Sponsoring Released Chibok Girls' Education (Pics)

A black American billionaire, Mr. Robert Smith, is currently sponsoring the education of 24 Chibok schoolgirls, among them, the first set of escapees from Boko Haram at the American University of Nigeria, Yola. The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, made this known in a statement on Monday.

Shehu stated that the 21 Chibok girls recently released were being treated as adoptees of the Federal Government. He, however, added that there was a lot of local and international interest "in the future plans of the girls." He said Smith had offered to pay for the education of the 21 Chibok grils released through negotiations and was offering to take responsibility for all the others "who will hopefully be eventually set free."

The presidential spokesman said the Murtala Mohammed Foundation in the country was equally interested in sponsoring the Chibok girls' education. On the complaints by some parents of the 21 Chibok girls that they did not have enough room for interaction with their daughters brought home for Christmas by the Department of State Security (DSS), Shehu admitted that there were some hitches arising from a lack of understanding of the objective of the trip on the part of some security operatives.

He, however, disclosed that following the receipt of the complaint, a directive had been given "from the headquarters for the access by the parents to be eased. "If the situation persists, please, let us know so that the higher authorities will make a further intercession."
