Pres. Buhari sacks Sally Mbanefo as DG Nigeria Tourism Development Corporation( NTDC)

Sally Mbanefo was, today, removed as the Director General of the Nigeria Tourism Development. Her removal was contained in a letter titled “Notification of de-secondment from the Nigeria Tourism Development Corporation( NTDC)” and signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir David Lawal on Sunday, November 27, 2016.

The letter reads, “I refer to the attached letter, Ref. No. SGF.6/S.23/1/568 of 8th October 2013 in respect of your secondment from the Keystone Bank Limited to serve as Executive Director/ Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Tourism Development Corporation( NTDC) for a period of two years with effect from 6th May 2013.

.
You may note from the foregoing that the period of your secondment at the corporation had since lapsed on 5th May 2016. Consequently, you are to handover the affairs of the corporation to the most senior officer on or before Wednesday, 30th November, 2016.” Mbanefo who was appointed by GEJ, in 2013, was accused of fraud amounting to N270m.

Nigerian Communications Commission Suspends Data Price Increase

The Nigerian Communications Commission on Wednesday announced the immediate suspension of the new minimum pricing template for data services by mobile operators.

The new rate, which would have led to price increase in data for some Nigerians, was scheduled to take effect from December 1.

The NCC said the decision is to allow for further consultation.

The NCC’s decision comes a few hours after the Senate ordered a stop to the planned increase.

A final year female student of the Delta State Polytechnic, department of Mathematics and Statistics was allegedly murdered by her cultist lover inside her room in a private hostel off Polytechnic Road in Ogwashi-Uku, Delta state last Tuesday November 22nd.

According to Sahara Reporters, the deceased who is simply identified as Julia had spent the night with her yet to be identified lover at her room in the Hostel when she was killed.

Other students residing in the hostel said the unidentified lover during a previous stay, had stolen the deceased lady's ATM card.

Cultists Attack US Based Nigerian Footballer Frank Obi after attending Synagogue Church

Frank Obi,a US base Nigerian footballer was attacked by unknown hoodlums in Lagos Nigeria.

The hoodlums who were suspected to be cultist attacked the victim at 3, Ade Olowu Street off Isuti Road, Igando.

Obi who came home to attend Synagogue Church of All Nations for prayer before returning to the state was attacked by one Taofeek who jumped from a story building with the cutlass and inflicted an injury on his legs.

He was rushed to the hospital where he is receiving medical treatment.

Igando police division arrested Taofeek and his accomplices. The presiding Magistrate, Mr A.A. Fashola granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Taofeek was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.

The matter was adjourned till 12 December 2016.

Wife who accused her Abia state Guber candidate husband of domestic abuse, denies being beaten by husband

Days back, the news of Chidinma Udensi went viral, after her neice made a plea to Nigerians to save her aunt from her husband, Chief Chikwendu Udensi, who, is the former ALGON national chairman and former PPA gubernatorial candidate during the 2015 elections.

But in a new court paper, Chidinma has said, under oath, that her marriage is peaceful and it is devoid of any form of violence. She also said she didn't authorize anyone to fight for her.

27 year old who died after allegedly drinking concoction given by her pastor, buried amidst tears

Last week we reported the story of 27 year old Maryjane Chinwendu, who died after allegedly drinking a concoction her pastor, Ola Bakare, of Jesus the solution Ministry gave her when complained to having stomach pains (read here). The lady has been buried in her own town Imo State amidst tears.

According to Maryjane's brother Chinonso Izuka, the accused pastor is still at large, while some members of the church and assistant pastor were arrested but released a few days later.

The police has however gotten the phone number of the pastor and have contacted him, asking him to report to the police station in Ajangbandi'

Seun Egbegbe Alledgedly Drinks Sniper Poison To Cover Shame

Nollywood producer, Seun Egbegbe has reportedly attempted to commit suicide over shame of the recent incidence that occurred were he allegedly stole phones in computer village.

Report said he attempted to take his life by drinking Sniper Poison. A member of his family made the call to a hospital in Ikeja which brought the presence of two doctors to his Ikeja residence to attend to him.

A source said that the alleged report that the filmmaker attempted to commit suicide was not true and he has defended himself from the media who wants to prey on any information especially the one that is false.

Seun Egbegbe is expected to go to court on the 18th of February 2017  over the iPhone theft allegation.

Ondo Governor-Elect Continues His Celebration With Champagne And Palm Wine (Pics)

 

Ondo state governor-elect, Rotimi Akeredolu of the All Progressives Congress APC -was spotted chilling with his friends as they drank champagne and palm wine after his landslide victory. Akeredolu polled 244,662 votes. The candidate for Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Eyitayo Jegede, scored 150,380 votes, while Alliance for Democracy (AD)‘s candidate, Olusola Oke, received 126,889 votes.

Sowere on his Facebook wall wrote.

"DSS Agents Invaded My Family Home In Ese-Odo LGA In Ondo In Search Of One Of My Brothers During The Guber Election, They Claimed He Was "Troublesome".

My Brother, Akinwunmi Sowore, Is An Alliance For Democracy Adjutant In Ese-Odo. He Was Eventually Trailed, Arrested, Detained /Kept Incommunicado By The invading DSS Agents. My Family Members Managed To Take These Photos During The Invasion Of Our Home. This Is A Despicable Act Of Cowardice/Desperation By The Ruling APC Party". His brother has since been released.

Seun Egbegbe release pictures to show that he is not remanded in prison

Popular Nigerian media marketer Seun Egbegbe, recently published a press release and pictures to show that he is no longer in police custody.

 

Following his arrest early last week at computer village for allegedly stealing 7 Iphone6 and 2Iphone7 phones, His publicist and media crew have given a press release denying all allegations that he has been remanded in Kiri kiri prison. They went further to explain that he was released on bail on the 24th of November, and the case has been adjourned to the 18th of February 2017.

Following the public allegation about the news/publication on social media that Mr Seun Egbegbe was remanded at Kiri Kiri prison, we will authoritatively inform the general public that Mr Seun Egbegbe of Ebony Films Productions was granted bail on Thursday 24th November, 2016 by the magistrate court in Lagos with adjournment of case till February 18th, 2017.
