Emeka Ike launches football competition

Nollywood star, Emeka Ike, at the weekend, flagged off a desert football tournament involving sixteen teams which were carefully selected from various parts of Lagos and its metropolis.

The football tournament is expected to last for two weeks, while the winner will work away with N500, 000.00 while  the second and third runners-up will have N100,000 and N75,000 each.

The opening match took place at the Sandfill football pitch, Ogudu on Friday, December 7, 2012.

Ike also revealed that Tottenham and Togostriker, Emmanuel Adebayor had given his word to assist some stars to be identified at the football tournament, adding that some major clubs in Europeare also sending scouts to the tournament.

The sixteen teams participating in the tournament are Sparrow FC, Ogudu; Omega FC, Ojota; Boston FC, Ogudu; Kosofe United, Kosofe; Golden Stars, Ogudu; Mowe Bombers, Mowe; Hob FC, Obanikoro; Intelligent Stars, Alapere; CCC FC, Ogudu and Gazar FC, Ikorodu.

Others are Erotic FC, Ogudu; All Stars FC, Ibafo; Ultimate FC, Ogudu; Lakeside FC, Ifako; All Stars, Oworonsoki and Mowe United, Mowe.
