Unknown gunmen killed eight persons while four persons were injured
in the early hours of Wednesday at Gwaram Sabuwa, Gwaram local
government area of Jigawa state.
The gunmen invaded the town between 2-4 am Wednesday morning, bombed
the police station before shooting indiscriminately at villagers.
Residents said the unknown gunmen numbering over 200 entered the town
in cars to perpetrate their dastardly act and left the town unhindered
after causing severe harm to residents.
The gunmen threatened to come back if the people did not to stop
enrolling their children in schools, stop accepting polio vaccination
and close down all football viewing centre in the town.
Those killed were taken to a morgue in the state capital while the
injured are currently receiving treatment at Gwaram general hospital.
