Ijebu Ode Grammar School was founded on Monday 20th January 1913 in a private building given by Late Pator J.B Sadare. The founder and first Principal of the school was the Late Rev. S.J Gansallo. Below is the picture of the first students of the school in 1913.
In 1938, the school moved to its present site on Abeokuta Road where the precious and the most important block was built the prestigious 1938 block. See the picture of the refurbished 1938 block below
The school is arguable the best school in Ijebu Ode and Ogun State as a whole. The centenary celebration started on Monday 14 January with a visit to the Awujale of Ijebuland by dignitries, Old and present students of the school. Some other activies such as literary and debating day, centenary interhouse sport etc. The projects presented by the old students was unvieled by the Deputy Governor of Ogun state. Set 94/95 set(which is the set I belong to) gifted the school a new school gate befitting school. See the pictures of the gate below
