Cheikh Abdelkader Dansoko, the acting
secretary general of the ECOWAS Parliament, has died at the age of 61
following a brief illness.
According to Leadership this was made known by the speaker of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Parliament, Senator Ike Ekweremadu. Dansoko was said to have passed away on September 6.
The deceased, who hailed from Mali, served with the body starting from 2002, when he was appointed the communication adviser to the pioneer speaker of the Parliament, Prof Ali Diallo. Later on he rose to the position of the chief communications officer, and in 2013 was appointed the secretary general of the Community Parliament.
