The
Vice Principal of Elume Grammar School in Delta state, Daniel
Okpobusa, has shot and killed the Principal of the school, Rosemary
Ojuederie, the Delta state police command says
The
Police Public Relations Officer, Charles Muka, who confirmed the arrest
of Mr. Okpobusa said on Monday in Asaba that the accused had confessed
to the crime.
According to police spokesman, Mrs. Ojuederie, 56, was on Thursday, June 28 murdered in her room by unknown assailants.
“However,
through information, her VP (Special Duties), one Daniel Okpobusa, 45
years, was arrested and under intense interrogation, he confessed to
killing the woman for an undisclosed reason.
“In
his confession, he narrated how he went to the late principal’s
residence and shot her through the slide window with a locally made
pistol,” Mr. Muka said.
He said that the culprit later led Sapele Police team to where the gun was recovered with five live cartridges in the bush.
Mr.
Muka said that the suspect is helping the State Criminal Investigation
Department (SCID), Asaba, in the investigation, adding that he would be
made to face the full wrath of the law.
