Political career
Orubebe became a Supervisory Councilor, and later Chairman of Burutu LGA. In July 2007, President Umaru Yar'Adua appointed him Minister of Special Duties.[2] Later he became Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs when that ministry was created in December 2008.[3] In January 2010 he said that the proposed 10% equity share policy on infrastructural development in the Niger Delta region would make vandalism and crisis a thing of the past.[4] On the 31st of March 2015, he attempted to disrupt the proceedings of the 2015 presidential election collation, but was escorted from the building.
