A senior police officer in Abuja said that the police on arriving Abuja with Buhari from Kaduna were asked to take him back to Kaduna last night, after which he was released on bail on the directives of Inspector General of Police in Kaduna.
Buhari was arrested for posting gory pictures of victims of the latest killings in troubled Southern Kaduna region. Buhari hails from the area.
There are accusations that his arrest was politically motivated by the office of Vice President Namadi Sambo and the current governor of Kaduna state, Ramalan Yero.
However, a family friend of Buhari said he was granted bail last night and asked to report this morning to formalize his bail conditions.
