The police in Osun State have arrested a
member of the National Youth Service Corps in the state for allegedly
stealing a motorcycle.
The corps member, Kazeem Adebisi, was
said to have stolen the red Bajaj motorcycle with number plate, FST 680
QB, at Agunbelewo area of Osogbo on Thursday.
The owner of the motorcycle, one Mr.
Oladeji Oyewole, was said to have gone inside a football viewing centre.
He was said to have come out to discover that his motorcycle was
nowhere to be found.

He was said to have gone to a nearby police station where he reported the case.
Luck, however, ran out of the alleged
thief as the owner, who was on his way to visit his wife that had just
been delivered of a baby in a hospital, saw his motorcycle where it was
parked.
The corps member was said to have made an attempt to escape with the bike but was caught after Oyewole raised the alarm.
Adebisi, 26, who claimed to be a youth
corps member attached to St. John Middle School, Iree and graduated
from Kwara State Polytechnic, suddenly jumped on the motorcycle and as
he was about to start it, he was apprehended.
“He confessed to the crime. He said ‘I
stole the motorcycle because I want to be riding it to my place of
work. This is my first time of stealing.’
“The suspect was identified by his colleagues and will be arraigned in court at the conclusion of investigation.”
