The late Magbamawo Industrial Company (MIC) boss, Tunji Okusanya was laid to rest at the Vaults and Garden cemetery, Ikoyi on Monday November 19.
The burial rites commenced with a
penitential service at St. Johns Anglican Church, Aroloya which was
presided over by the Anglican diocesan bishop of Lagos, Most Revd. Dr E.A. Ademowo and other clergies in attendance.
Okusanya’s corpse was carried by pallbearers in traditional attires- Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa which depicts his style of job. ‘Uncle Tunji was always dressed in traditional attires to suit different tribes whenever he was on duty’,
the late Okusanya’s niece explained. The pallbearers were led by the
MIC boss’ daughter. His body was finally taken to the cemetery where he
was buried.
Tunji Okusanya died on Thursday, October
3, 2013 following the Lagos plane crash that claimed the lives of about
14 people including Okusanya, his son and four members of his staff.
The 60-year-old is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, nephews, nieces, aunties, uncles and cousins.
