Governor Wike And Wife At Thanksgiving Service Today - Photos

 

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike on Sunday worshipped at the Salvation Ministries in Port Harcourt, where he joined others to praise and thank God for the judgment of the Supreme Court validating his victory.

Governor Wike was accompanied to the Church Service by his Wife, Justice Suzette Eberechi Nyesom-Wike, the Acting National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus and his wife, Rivers PDP Chieftain, Chief Sergeant Awuse and the Rivers State Finance Commissioner, Dr Fred Kpakol.
The governor and his entourage were led in a thanksgiving prayer and praise session by Pastor David Ibiyeomie of the Salvation Ministries.

The 22nd annual Screen Actors Guild Awards held last night Saturday, January 30 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California.

Leonardo DiCaprio continued winning acclaim for his performance in ‘The Revenant’, taking home the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture award, while Uzo Aruba won the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series award for her work in ‘Orange is the new black’.

Olumofin Brothers- We Were Not Asked to Leave Toolz&Tunde's Wedding Yesterday

 

Yesterday, there were reports that the Olumofin brothers, Joro and Dokun Olumofin were turned back from Toolz and Tunde Demuren's traditional wedding by the bride and groom's parents. They denied they were asked to leave the wedding. 

 Dokun Olumofin said;

"We can all agree that a persons wedding is a once in a life time event for which reason Tunde and I had spoken on Wednesday last week and agreed to put drama behind and move forward. We had already decided in view of the previous drama surrounding this event, to cut short our stay at the event, congratulate our friend and leave. That precisely was what we did. At no time was our invitation to the event cancelled and at no time were we requested to leave. As to your questions whether after all this we shall still be friends, the answer is yes."

APC Chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun, gave out his daughter, Eniyemamwen's hand in marriage to Umaso Eketu, a Flying officer, at a church wedding which took place at the Arch bishop Vining Memorial Church Cathedral yesterday January 30th. The reception took place at the Haven‎ Event Centre. Some of the guests at the wedding were Senate President Bukola Saraki, Ogun state governor Ibikunle Amosun, Minister of Science and Technology Ogbonnaya Onu, APC Chieftain Bisi Akande, Senator Dino Melaye and others.

Pastor Drops Dead, Hours To Ministering At Burial Service

 

Venerable Stephen Eseteru Ogue, JP, 53, of St. John’s Anglican Church, Agbarho in Ughelli North Local Government  Area of Delta State and author of several Christian books died at about 7.45 a.m. on Friday, December 11, 2015, two hours  before he was supposed to officiate at a funeral service.

 
He reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest and passed away at Lily Hospital, Deco Road, Warri. His first  daughter, Oghenenyoreme Ogue, said he had been suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure.

The hearse conveying the remains of the  woman whose burial the paster was supposed to preside at, mourners, including a large delegation of the church’s Women Guild as well as members of the Anglican Fasting and Prayer Society, had gathered in front of the church building as early as 9.25 a.m. for the service billed for 10.00 a.m.

Graphic Photos From The Bomb Blast In Adamawa State Yesterday

Following the recent ‪bomb‬ blast at Gombi local Government area of Adamawa state, the National Emergency Management Agency ‪‎NEMA‬ has recorded 56 casualties, 9 dead and 24 people currently receiving treatment in different hospitals across the state. The explosion accorded after a boy on Friday detonated a suicide vest at a crowded market in Gombi town -killing scores and injuring others in the process.

The Minister of Environment -Amina Mohammed demonstrated leadership during a sensitization event today to mark the first sanitation of the year. Nigerian duo Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze are on the verge of being confirmed as Arsenal signings after posing with manager Arsene Wenger and CEO Ivan Gazidis.

The teenage stars were also pictured with Gunners legend Nwankwo Kanu.

Arsenal scouted them during last year’s Under-17s World Cup in Chile when Nwakali, 17, was the star of the tournament as he was captain and voted Player of the Tournament. Chukwueze, 16, scored three goals and three assists.


When asked whether he expects it to be done before Monday’s deadline, Wenger said: “Yes. The (talks) are progressing well.”

And now the duo appear to have signed after being snapped with the Frenchman.

Dasukigate: Leadership Newspaper Returns its Share of N9 million

According to PremiumTimes, The management of Leadership Holdings Limited, publishers of Leadership newspapers, has returned the N9 million it received from the Presidency through the Newspapers Proprietors Association of Nigeria as compensation for the seizure of its publications in 2014.

In a letter dated January 29 and addressed to the General Secretary of NPAN, the company said it decided to return the money after some senior officials had gone behind to direct their organisations to refund the compensation received from the government even though it was agreed that they committed no offence by receiving the compensation.

Photos- Ooni of Ife Visits Awujale of Ijebu Land

 Yesterday, 29 January 2016; the new Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, paid a visit to the Awujale and Paramount ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, in his palace in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.

This visit is coming on the heels of his historic visit to the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi.

He arrived the palace around 1:14pm with a retinue of chiefs from Ile-Ife and was welcomed to the palace by Oba Adetona and numerous traditional rulers in Ijebuland.

The Ooni’s visit is believed to be in line with his crusade of promoting unity among Yoruba traditional rulers.

Pastor Nabbed With Stolen Vehicle Says-I Thought The SUV Was a Blessing

 

A 32-year-old Presbyterian pastor from Umuahia, Abia State, Rev. Titus Onwuchekwa has been arrested for buying a 2005 edition of Mitsubishi Pajero for just N350,000.

 

Paraded alongside two notorious stolen car dealers by the police during the week,he explained that he thought God had brought a blessing his way.

 

Onwuchekwa was paraded with the car dealers, 32-year-old Felix Osas, who sold the vehicle and 32-year-old Ndibe Samuel.

Supreme Court Sacks Oduah, Uba, Others as Legislators

The Supreme Court on Friday sacked senators representing Anambra South, Andy Uba, and his Anambra North counterpart, Stella Oduah, as well as other state and National Assembly legislators elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.

The apex court, in its judgement, affirmed as null and void a caretaker committee, headed by Col. Augustine Akobundo (retd.), and its list, nominating Oduah and Uba, as well as the rest of PDP state and federal legislators from Anambra State to the Independent National Electoral Commission as the party’s candidates for the 2015 general elections.

A five-man panel of the apex court, led by Justice Sylvester Ngwuta, unanimously affirmed an earlier verdict delivered by Justice Evoh Chukwu of the Federal High Court in Abuja on December 15, 2014, which had affirmed the Ejike Oguebego-led executive committee of the party, along with the primaries conducted by it, and its list of candidates that emerged from the exercise.
