Report reaching us confirms that some workers of the
nation’s electricity company, Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN,
are presently staging a peaceful protest in Lagos.
It was gathered that the aggrieved staff of PHCN are protesting the
non-payment of their salaries by the management despite plans by the
government to handover the company to its new investors who will now run
the electricity company.
The PHCN workers, as at the time of filing this report, are at the
Lagos State Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja.
They are demanding for the
payment of their salaries before the take-over.
