I sincerely do not know what to say when i saw this in one of the dailies, I am so sad that as violence continued in some parts of Kaduna State on Monday and fresh
attacks were reported in Damaturu, Yobe State, President Goodluck
Jonathan, will depart for Brazil today.
President Jonathan is going to the Brazilian
commercial capital city, Rio de Janeiro, to take part in this year’s
United Nations’ Earth Summit.
While in Rio de Janeiro, Jonathan is
expected to participate in the summit’s four plenary sessions at Rio
Centro Convention Centre on Wednesday and Thursday. He will also attend a
reception hosted by the Brazilian President for Heads of Government at
the summit.
The President is expected to travel with
his wife, Patience; Governors Ibrahim Shema and Seriake Dickson of
Katsina and Bayelsa states respectively.
Other people on the President’s
entourage are the Ministers of Environment, Mrs Hadiza Ibrahim
Mailafiya; Water Resources, Mrs Sarah Ohekpe; Trade and Investment, Mr.
Olusegun Aganga; and Senator Benedict Ayade.

With the monumental level of environmental degradation in the niger delta, and the non-challant attitude of government to desertification in the north, what business do we still have with the Earth Summit????
ReplyDeleteThree months ago this mr presido said he will solve the issues of security in three months, i don’t know if he has forgotten about that. The man has got no clue of what he is or meant to be doing in that office. Can’t we have an early election?
ReplyDeleteBy joining the world’s top emerging economies to attend this summit to put heads together on how to better the lot of Nigerians, GEJ has again demonstrated his strength of character and his very progressive mind.
ReplyDeleteIf GEJ keeps responding and backing down following every evil antics and daily attacks of Nigeria’s of enemies, he will never join his global peers to learn something new. All these attacks on Nigeria are now on a daily basis. And he is damned right not to yield to the devils at this time, even if they have to use people like “Nick” to spread bad sentiments about him. He is a positive thinker who looks forward, refusing to be bogged down as his political and tribal enemies planned and would wish.
